FLORIDA Southeast Coast to $430K+
This highly regarded and well known hospital group is bringing all of their EDs back in house in order to establish a company-wide policy of “The Emergency Department is the Front Door of Our Hospitals.” They are retaining only the top tier docs from the outgoing group and adding new physicians to this flagship facility. All candidates must be EM residency trained and board eligible or certified in EM. Potential for administrative and other sub-directorships also exist.
The new ED is almost complete with a multi-million dollar expansion project. Though not a trauma center, the ED is a designated stroke and diabetes center and sees about 23,000 patients a year. Coverage is excellent with all peer physicians working 12 hour shifts for 36 hours of daily coverage. High acuity admission rate, great back-up including a separate psych admit area. Wait times are advertised to the public and EMR are in use hospital-wide. A hospitalist program is also in place.
Earn a base of $165 per hour and participate in a quarterly bonus pool adding as much as an additional $50 per hour to top patient movers and documenters. A comprehensive benefit package includes family health, dental, vision, disability, life, CME time and stipend as well as a strong pension plan. Relocation and sign-on bonus also available with amounts depending upon experience.

The ED underwent a multi-million dollar expansion in 2006. A designated level 2 trauma center, the ED is also a designated stroke center and sees about 49,000 patients a year. Coverage is excellent with all peer physicians working 12 hour shifts for 70 hours of daily coverage. High acuity admission rate, great specialty back-up, a bun care center and primary stroke care center as well as a hospitalist program are in place. Wait times are advertised to the public and EMR are in use hospital-wide.

This highly regarded and well known hospital group is bringing all of their EDs back in house in order to establish a company-wide policy of “The Emergency Department is the Front Door of Our Hospitals.” They are retaining only the top tier docs from the outgoing group and adding new physicians to all their facilities. As such, they are putting together a transition team that will travel around the region filling-in as needed until each physician chooses a home base and all EDs are fully staffed. All candidates must be EM residency trained and board eligible or certified in EM.
The EDs vary in trauma level and volume but all are well covered with excellent physical plants, system-wide EMR, hospitalist programs and specialty back-up. Wait times are advertised to the public. Transition team physicians work 12 hour shifts, 3 shifts a week. They are free to work more if desired. Any physician on this team is free to settle at one facility at pretty much any time. Potential for administrative and other sub-directorships also exist. If a transition team doc travels more than 45 miles from home, reimbursements for travel costs including gas, miles food and even lodging kick-in.
