This is a great ground-floor opportunity for a young emergency medicine residency grad or experienced, boarded ED doc who wants to earn a substantial amount of money in a nice community hospital close to a major university town in one of the hottest areas outside of Houston.  This little burg is becoming known as “the Scottsdale of Houston!”  The ED sees 18-19K annual volume in a lovely community hospital with a new ER that features 15 treatment bays and an interesting patient mix.  It is a full EMS base command for ground transport.  Coverage is single with PA coverage 24/7.  The group was brought on board by a very progressive hospital CEO to create a “Better ED” model with the assistance of the Medical Staff, both of which are providing full support towards that end.  There is great potential here and physicians are happy and satisfied, working 12-14 12-hour shifts per month.  The addition of scribes in the ED frees-up physicians from a lot of their documentation duties.   Emergency trained physicians earn a guaranteed hourly salary between $160 and $180, depending upon experience.  Quarterly incentive bonuses add to the income.  The group employs physicians as Independent Contractors and provides full malpractice and tail coverage as well as a cafeteria plan for medical benefits.  They also provide accounting services and advisors for establishing IC tax status and making the most of the benefits that IC status provides.  This is a very hot and growing suburb close to Houston with great availability of land as well as a wide variety of lifestyles.
