Unlike the web sites of most physician recruiters, The Katz Company does not provide a list of job openings in an attempt to entice candidates. Opportunities not only change at the drop of a dime, but our clients represent the finest democratic private groups and employee-staffed Emergency Departments across the country, and they prefer a more confidential recruitment process. Many of our client employers will actually create a position or fast-track a potential future opening for the right candidate. As such, we prefer to market our outstanding candidates to the best potential employers, rather than try to match the candidate only to job openings that currently exist. When a potential physician candidate contacts The Katz Company, we screen the candidate in the following areas:

  • Training and education
  • Detailed reasons for current job search
  • Work history including reasons for leaving prior positions
  • Malpractice history
  • History of disciplinary actions or restrictions by state licensing bureau, Medicare or employer
  • Current professional goals
  • Long-term professional goals
  • Geographic/lifestyle preferences
  • Financial requirements
  • Personal goals
  • Family details
  • Personal and family interests, hobbies, sports, etc.
  • Job search time frame
  • Detailed professional and personal “wish list”

With all of this valuable information, The Katz Company will first decide whether the physician fulfills our high standards for candidate qualification. Once a physician has been accepted as a candidate, we design and execute a comprehensive marketing campaign for that physician, targeting only those potential employers that fulfill the bulk of the physician’s needs.

The Katz Company will inform the candidate of every opportunity available in their selected geographic corridor, even if the opportunity is with a group/facility not associated with our firm. We advise the candidates to pursue such positions on their own, should they choose to.

The Katz Company only refers a physician’s CV to a potential employer after the position has been discussed with the candidate in detail, and the physician has given permission for us to do so. We will arrange for a detailed telephone interview between the candidate and the client hiring authority so that all details can be covered before each party commits to the time and expense of a site visit. Confidentiality is guaranteed all candidates and clients working with The Katz Company. Once a candidate has completed the interview and offer process, we assist with contract negotiations. We will also provide assistance with credentialing and relocation whenever possible. The Katz Company conducts a thorough reference check, but most clients prefer to also conduct their own.
